Not safe anywhere...

What a day. It started out great. Mid 70s in February in North Carolina, mandatory riding weather. Unless you're one of those seasonal riders. But for us year rounders, these are days meant to be spent on the road. Weather it be open road racking up highway miles, or enjoying the scenery on a winding back road. I prefer the back roads. Give me a full tank of gas and a 100 miles roadway that I've never been down, an any day becomes a great day.

Well, today my great day turn into a nightmare. While slowing down in a school zone, i was rear ended by a guy on a trike. He clipped my left saddlebag while I was doing about 25 MPH. I didn't go down or loose control, so things could have been a lot worse.

The guy that hit got the worst of it. His trike had a busted rear fender. Front fender, crash bar and pegs bent as a result of loosing control and running down in the ditch. His handlebars and windshield were damaged when went over them.
Just thankful we both we able to walk away. Even better to be able to ride away.
